No publication without layout, no layout without publication. Besides the writing of journalistic texts, we also teach the basics of desktop publishing. The Editorial Office with its ten Apple computers and professional graphics and layout software offers the perfect learning environment for aspiring professionals in the media.

Overview

Equipment and facilities

The Editorial Office is equipped with ten Apple Macintosh computers with professional graphic and layout software for practical classes on print journalism. The supervised hours can be used to scan photos, negatives or slides, edit graphics or create PowerPoint presentations. The supervisors can offer assistance if you encounter any problems.

Hardware

Ten Apple Macintosh computers (some with CD/DVD writers) as well as two flatbed scanners with transparency modules for scanning photo negatives and slides. There are two laser printers and one A3 inkjet printer availiable.

Software

The current Apple OS-X is installed on all systems. The Editorial Office is especially well stocked with graphics software: InDesign, Photoshop and Freehand are installed on all machines. The MS Office package is also installed. Since OS-X compatability between Apple and Windows systems has been enhanced, unfinished work can easily be transferred to your home computer and back again.
